Snow Snow and More Snow

Well 2010 started off very cold with ice and snow and has continued.
We are now in the worst winter conditions since 1981. Now for the life of me I can not remember that winter. But then I was 21 and spent most nights going out - a little bit of snow never stopped me then!
Used to wear a long sued fur lined coat and a pair of sued fur lined boots that had a high heel - but I never slipped over. Jeans that you had to lie on the floor to do up with a coat hanger, all finished with a floaty cheesecloth top. Jewellery was loads of metal Indian bangles, several pairs of earrings, studs and a pair of dangling ones. A single necklace usually a charm on a leather band. Those were the days.........

This is the palm tree outside our kitchen and some of the garden.

Can you see the garden furniture - its buried somewhere!

We cleared the path to get to the bird table but it soon snowed over again

Our cats do not like this weather and here they are - the heating pipes run under this carpet bit.

Our dog however loves the snow and jumps around like a puppy.

After our Christmas break, we have just photographed over a hundred pieces of vintage jewellery, findings and beads. In the next few days we will be adding them to Jewels and Finery

About Me

My photo

I preserve the past. Researching family and local history. Finding about mine and other people's ancestors, is just one of my passions. I also love vintage costume jewellery made here in the UK. I write about my finds and like to research.
